In its first estimates, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union reveals when December 2011 is compared with November 2011, the volume of retail trade fell by 0.4% in the euro area (EA17), while it rose by 0.3% in the EU27. The largest decreses were observed in Malta (-3.1%). In November retail trade decreased by 0.4% and 0.2% respectively.
