Phoenix group files petitions to get ballot initiative to ban billboards
Petitions aimed at banning all new billboards in Phoenix were filed with the city clerk's office Tuesday. Jim Mapstead, longtime billboard foe and leader of Save Phoenix Views, says he turned in more than 33,000 signatures. Save Phoenix Views needs 25,480 valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.
